Arsenal to rival Manchester United for injury prone Barcelona ace

Arsenal are weighing up the possibility of rivalling Manchester United for the chance to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, reports Sport. 

The Frenchman's time in Spain has been plagued by injuries, with Dembele starting just 35 league matches following his 2017 arrival from Borussia Dortmund. 

That said, the 22-year-old's stock across Europe remains high and, if Barcelona were to cash in on Dembele, there would be ample interest in his services. 

Premier League outfit Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Dembele in the past, while Arsenal and United are now considering making a move for the former Rennes man. 

Dembele has been restricted to just three league starts for the Blaugrana as they aim to successfully defend their LaLiga crown, with the wideman sidelined since November with a hamstring problem. 

Barcelona are looking to shift a number of fringe players on this summer as they look to raise funds in order to pursue their rumoured interest in Neymar and Lautaro Martinez, with it possible that they cut their losses on Dembele.
