Manchester United prepare for life after Ibrahimovic

Manchester United are eyeing up summer targets as potential replacements for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, reports Manchester Evening News.

The 35-year-old forward has been a resounding success for United following his arrival last summer, but while the player has hinted that he would be willing to sign a one-year extension to his current deal, he has been linked with the Old Trafford exit.

Ibrahimovic has allegedly agreed terms with LA Galaxy to move to MLS next summer, which has the potential to leave United short of quality attacking options.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial has failed to take their chance to impress manager Jose Mourinho when called upon, while Wayne Rooney is set to leave at the end of the season.

As such, United are preparing for life after Ibrahimovic and are keeping tabs on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Torino star Andrea Belotti.

Lukaku has scored more Premier League goals (23) than any other player this season, while Belotti rattled in his 24th goal of the season in Torino’s 3-2 win at Cagliari at the weekend to move level with Edin Dzeko atop the Serie A scoring chart.

United are continuing to court Antoine Griezmann, but fear they will miss out on the Frenchman, and so are looking to acquire one of Lukaku or Belotti once the transfer window reopens.
