United won't move for free scoring Ligue 1 star

Manchester United will not pursue their interest in PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic if Louis van Gaal remains in charge beyond the summer, reports the Mail on Sunday.

The Dutch boss feels the Ibrahimovic, at 34 years of age, is too old to cut it for his youthful United side and will opt against any deal for the Swede should the opportunity presents itself.

Ibrahimovic is set to leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of the season, with the experienced frontman linked with a move to Premier League.

The Sweden international has been in flying form for PGS this season, netting 30 league goals; no player has more in Europe's top five leagues.

However, a move to Old Trafford could be on the cards should Jose Mourinho take charge, as is rumoured, with he and Ibrahimovic having enjoyed a fine working relationship in the past.
