Manchester United target Reece Oxford is set to snub their advances in favour of signing a new long-term deal with West Ham, according to The Daily Express.
Oxford, 17, has been heavily linked with a move to United this year after reportedly turning down West Ham’s contract offers.
United are understood to be willing to pay as much as £15m to sign the highly rated teenager with £10m up front.
However, Jose Mourinho looks to have been served his first blow as United manager with the versatile central midfielder on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
Oxford burst onto the scene in the first game of last season when West Ham beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates and looked to be set for a bright season. However, form and fitness saw him only make a further two starts all season, which has led to a cloud of uncertainty over his future.
