Leicester City are keen to ward off interest in N’Golo Kante by rewarding the dynamic midfielder with a new contract, according to The Daily Mirror.
Kante, 24, has been one of the signings of the season and his energetic displays from the heart of Leicester’s midfield have been integral behind their remarkable campaign.
The French midfielder still has more than three years left to run on the original deal he penned when he signed from Caen for £5.6m at the start of the season, but with Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly interested in his services, Leicester are understandably keen to improve his current terms.
Kante’s performances will certainly make him an outside contender for the PFA Player of the Year at the end of the season, particularly for all the dirty work he has done in midfield areas this season. In fact, no player has completed more tackles and interceptions combined than Kante across Europe’s top five leagues this season (235).
