Unnamed Premier League side bids for Rodriguez

An unnamed Premier League side has made a £72m bid for Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez, according to Spanish publication Marca.

A host of English teams have been credited with an interest in the Colombia international in recent months, with Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham all linked with a move.

Rodriguez is keen to remain in Madrid, with his family settled in the Spanish capital, but a lack of game time could convince the 25-year-old to depart for pastures new.

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane had spoken of his intention to retain Rodriguez’s services this summer, yet the club may be tempted to sell should the right offer come in.

Rodriguez played a key role in Colombia’s progression to the semi final of the 2016 Copa America this summer, where they fell to eventual winners Chile.
