Spurs will attempt to pip Arsenal to the signature of Michy Batshuayi by lodging an early bid for the Marseille striker, according to the Daily Mail.
Batshuayi, 22, has courted a lot of interest from clubs around Europe following his sparkling start to the season.
Arsenal were linked with the Belgium international in a bid to ease the burden on Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, but Spurs are also interested in his services as Mauricio Pochettino looks to help Harry Kane up front.
Since the start of the season, only Neymar (14) and Romelu Lukaku (11) have scored more goals than Batshuayi (10) of players aged 23 and under across Europe’s top five leagues this season.
