Solskjaer makes decision about Manchester United’s penalty taker
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has appointed Marcus Rashford as the club’s designated penalty taker following Paul Pogba’s miss against Wolves, claims The Sun.
Pogba failed to convert from the spot for the fourth time in the Premier League since the beginning of last season in United’s 1-1 draw away to Wolves on Monday night.
Rashford scored a penalty in United’s 4-0 win over Chelsea on the opening weekend of the season and afterwards insisted he had no problem with Pogba asking to take the spot-kick he had won against Wolves.
Solskjaer echoed Rashford’s thoughts to reporters but it has now emerged the United boss tore into both players in the dressing room before putting Rashford on spot-kick duties on a full-time basis.
Rashford has a perfect record from spot-kicks in his career and Pogba’s penalty miss against Wolves means United are already two points back from league leaders Liverpool and Arsenal after two games.
