Chelsea tracking PSG goalkeeper

Chelsea have joined Napoli and Valencia in the race to sign PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, reports Transfermarketweb.com.

The Blues recently acquired Willy Caballero as a replacement for Asmir Begovic, who left the club for Premier League counterparts Bournemouth.

Head coach Antonio Conte, however, is keeping his options open as rumours continue to swirl over Thibaut Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium number one has been heavily linked with a return to Madrid, with Real Madrid believed to be keen on landing the young goalkeeper.

Chelsea are confident they can retain Courtois this summer, though are monitoring Areola should the former depart for Spain.

The young French goalkeeper made just 14 league starts for PSG last season and has only two years left to run on his current deal for the Parisian side.

However, Unai Emery is undecided on who he wants as his number one goalkeeper, with 24-year-old Areola battling with Kevin Trapp for a regular starting spot.
