Manchester United monitor Antonio Valencia successor
Manchester United are monitoring AC Milan youngster Davide Calabria as they prepare for life without Antonio Valencia, reports the Sunday Mirror.
Valencia turns 34 in August and the club are keen to secure a replacement for the experienced Ecuadorian.
And United have earmarked Calabria as a potential successor for Valencia, with the 22-year-old impressing scouts of the Premier League side.
Everton are also believed to be in the running to sign the young Italian, who has made 18 Serie A starts for AC Milan this season and has returned a WhoScored rating of 6.89 in that time.
United signed Diego Dalot from FC Porto last summer, but the club are wary of being caught short at right-back.
United are expected to invest heavily in the summer as they aim to revamp their aging squad and have been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho.
However, it’ll take a hefty bid to convince AC Milan to sell Calabria, who is making the second most tackles per game (2.9) of all players for the Serie A side.
