Arsenal forward joins Hoffenheim

Arsenal have announced Reiss Nelson has signed a new contract and joined German side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan deal.

Nelson had entered the final 12 months of his contract at Arsenal but the Gunners have successfully secured his long-term future.

The 18-year-old has made 16 senior appearances for Arsenal since breaking onto the scene last season.

Nelson is highly-rated at Arsenal but the north London outfit have farmed the teenager out on loan to German side Hoffenheim.

“Reiss is a talented young player and we’re pleased that he has signed a new contract with us,” Unai Emery told Arsenal’s official website.

“This move to Hoffenheim will give him the chance to get regular high-level competition in the Bundesliga and is an important step in his development.”

Nelson is yet to score for Arsenal but will hope to hit the ground running with Hoffenheim if given regular playing time.
