Arsenal-Manchester United XIs: Emery goes on offensive with Aubameyang, Lacazette and Ozil
Arsenal and Manchester United have both named their lineups ahead of today’s clash at the Emirates and both have made changes from their midweek matches in France.
The Gunners unsurprisingly rotate following the defeat to Rennes, and Unai Emery has opted to field an attacking side for the visit of the Red Devils.
Alexandre Lacazette returns to the team as expected but alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rather than at the Gabonese striker’s expense. Mesut Ozil also keeps his place in the XI from Thursday, with the likes of Mkhitaryan and Iwobi dropping out instead, and Aaron Ramsey coming in.
Elsewhere Leno comes in for Cech in goal, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac both start as the coach reverts to a back three in which Nacho Monreal is preferred to Shkdodran Mustafi.
As far as the visitors are concerned the big bonus, along with the return from suspension of Paul Pogba, is that Nemanja Matic is fit to start, replacing Scott McTominay, while Diego Dalot’s inclusion in place of Andreas Pereira suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided upon a 4-3-3 formation, with the young Portuguese playing on the opposite flank to Marcus Rashford.
Meanwhile Anthony Martial is fit enough to take a place on the bench but Ander Herrera - who was believed to be in contention for a return - has been unable to recover from injury in time.
