Manchester City star bats away links to Real Madrid and Barcelona

Manchester City sensation Kevin De Bruyne has moved to distance himself from reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona, insisting he is "comfortable" at the Etihad Stadium.

The creative star has again excelled for the defending Premier League champions having registered more assists (15) than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season.

De Bruyne has a contract until 2023 and he isn't looking to break that agreement anytime soon, even with rumoured interest from the LaLiga giants.

The 28-year-old is believed to be playing at his peak and it's caught the eye of the Spanish duo, but speaking to Sport360, the Belgian is showing no desire to move on from Manchester.

"I feel comfortable because this is the club I have played for the longest apart from Genk, but that was because I was in the youths, so that was different.

"But I feel comfortable here because I’m happy here. I play at one of the best teams in the world, one of the best leagues in the world and my family is settled, my kids are happy. So it makes it more comfortable.

"If one of these things wasn’t in place it would give you stress, but I don’t have that stress at the moment. I feel relaxed and feel I can focus on what I need to do to be ready."

De Bruyne will, of course, play at the Bernabeu later this month as City drew Real Madrid in the last-16 of the Champions League.

The Belgian said of the test of facing Los Blancos:  "With the draw, I don’t think there was a small team we could have had. If you want to win the Champions League you need to beat the best.

"I think this is what you want to play for. You want to play Champions League, World Cups, Euros, all that stuff."
