Barcelona scouts cast eye over Tottenham star in Madrid
Spanish outlet Sport has revealed that Barcelona’s sporting director Robert Fernandez was at the Bernabeu last night to keep tabs on a number of Tottenham targets.
Chief among them was Christian Eriksen, who the blaugrana have reportedly targeted as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho having failed with numerous bids for the Brazilian in the summer.
The Dane played his part in an impressive result for Spurs as they held the reigning European champions to a draw on Tuesday night, though he was far from his best from an individual perspective.
While Harry Winks drew the plaudits in midfield, Eriksen was far more wasteful, completing just 76% of his passes compared to an average of 85% in the league.
Another long term target of the Catalan club, Davinson Sanchez was assured once more at the back, while the leaders in Spain are also believed to be keeping tabs on Dele Alli, who was absent through suspension.
