Inter try to tempt Chelsea manager with mammoth wages
Inter want to make Chelsea manager Antonio Conte their new manager in the summer and willing to offer the Italian £250,000-a-week to tempt him back to Serie A, according to Tuttosport.
Chelsea are the runaway leaders in the Premier League during Conte’s first season in charge of the club and Inter’s new owners are keen to have the 47-year-old back in Serie A to help lead the club’s resurgence.
Conte hasn’t managed in Serie A since stepping down as Juventus manager to take charge of the Italy national team after the 2014 World Cup and Inter are hoping £250,000-a-week wages and a £350m transfer warchest will be enough to tempt him back to his homeland in the summer.
The Italian was in attendance for Inter’s 1-0 defeat against his former club Juventus on Sunday but is understood to be enjoying life in west London as he leads Chelsea towards their sixth Premier League title.
Conte has only lost 14 of his last 158 matches in club football, with Chelsea a staggering nine points clear of the chasing pack in the Premier League this season.
