Leicester fail in £18m bid for Europa League winner
Leicester have had an £18m bid for Steven N’Zonzi rejected by Europa League winners Sevilla, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Foxes have been linked with N’Zonzi as a player to ease the burden should they fail to keep hold of N’Golo Kante this summer.
N’Zonzi, 27, only joined Sevilla last summer but played a key part in their defence of the Europa League title for a third year in succession and his performances have caught the attention of Premier League winners Leicester.
Claudio Ranieri’s side are looking to bolster their squad ahead of Champions League football this summer but will need to match N’Zonzi’s £21m release clause if they are to successfully land the former Stoke midfielder.
Only Aduriz and Carlitos won more aerial duels in the Europa League this season than N’Zonzi (42).
