Everton Injury News: Calvert-Lewin concern, too soon for Branthwaite?

Everton make the trip to Leicester on Saturday afternoon as they look to end their dire run to kick off the campaign.

The Toffees currently sit rock-bottom of the Premier League after four successive defeats to start the season.

Nathan Patterson

Everton full-back Nathan Patterson looks set to remain sidelined until at least the end of September with a thigh injury.

Patterson’s issue was described as a ‘serious hamstring injury’ by Sean Dyche during pre-season, and, as such, the Toffees won’t be rushing him back. The trip to Leicester comes too soon for Patterson but he is close to a return.

Youssef Chermiti

Young striker Youssef Chermiti has undergone a minor operation on his ankle, after suffering an injury during pre-season.

It is expected that the 20-year-old will return to action next month.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Highly-coveted Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is yet to play a minute for the club this season after struggling with a groin issue throughout pre-season.

Like teammate Chermiti, the England international is returning from a minor operation, with it hoped that he can return later this month, though he won't be fit for Saturday's game at the King Power Stadium.

Armando Broja

Deadline day loan signing Armando Broja is not expected to make his Everton debut until at least October, with the 23-year-old currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

Concerns over Broja’s injury history are said to have complicated a proposed move to Ipswich Town over the summer, and Everton will be hoping the Albania international can reach full fitness sooner rather than later.

Seamus Coleman

Everton and Ireland captain Seamus Coleman picked up a knock during his nation’s defeat to England last weekend, and was forced to withdraw from the squad and return to his club for assessment.

The 35-year-old was caught by Harry Maguire after a corner, and having missed the midweek EFL Cup loss to Southampton, he won't be fit here.

Vitalii Mykolenko

While he came down with a bout of illness in the week, Vitalii Mykolenko has since recovered and is in line to start at left-back at Leicester.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Like Mykolenko, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was also struggling in the week but he's set to lead the charge at the King Power Stadium.

James Garner

While Mykolenko and Calvert-Lewin are over their bugs, James Garner is still struggling and the midfielder faces a late fitness test ahead of Saturday.

Michael Keane

Michael Keane faces a late fitness test to determine his availability for the game at Leicester.

James Tarkowski

Like centre-back teammate Keane, James Tarkowski will be properly assessed ahead of the weekend owing to a back problem.

Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye will play no part in Saturday's game at Leicester owing to a family bereavement.
