Gabon head coach Jorge Costa has revealed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed their recent 2-0 defeat to Mauritania because he is ‘in the process of changing clubs’.

 

Aubameyang, 26, has been in sensational form for Borussia Dortmund this season and his performances in front of goal have seen him linked to nearly every major club in Europe over the course of the past 12 months.

 

The Gabon international would be of interest to any big club if he was made available by Dortmund and it would seem one lucky team has won the race to his signature following revealing comments made by his national team coach.

 

Aubameyang asked me not to be selected because he is in the process of changing clubs,” Costa is quoted as saying by ITV News.

Only Robert Lewandowski (30) scored more league goals than Aubameyang in the Bundesliga this season (25).
