Sanchez insists he is fit for United clash

Alexis Sanchez has given Arsenal a huge boost ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Saturday after declaring himself fit to play.

The 27-year-old emerged as a huge injury doubt during the international break after picking up a thigh injury with Chile before making a sensational return to score twice in their 3-1 win over Uruguay at the start of the week.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Sanchez will be assessed and a decision on his involvement against United will be made on Friday, although the former Barcelona forward insists he is ready to feature.

“I travel today [Wednesday] to London,” the London Evening Standard quote Sanchez as saying after Chile’s win. “I will train on Friday and travel the same day to Manchester to play Saturday midday. There is no problem with me playing.”

It would be a huge boost to have Sanchez available following news Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla have already been ruled out, as Wenger looks to secure his first competitive win over Mourinho on his 15th attempt.

Furthermore, Sanchez is the highest rated player away from home in the Premier League (8.63), having scored five goals in five matches on the road this season.
