Chelsea have confirmed summer signing Malang Sarr has joined Portuguese giants FC Porto on a season-long loan deal.
Sarr joined Chelsea on a free transfer this summer as part of their stunning £200m spending spree after his contract with Nice expired in July.
The 21-year-old signed a five-year deal with Chelsea but the plan was always to go out on loan and get regular football elsewhere this season.
After the deadline for Europe's top five leagues passed on Monday, it appeared Chelsea failed to find Sarr a new club.
However, the window for Portuguese clubs remains open and Porto have raided Chelsea for the highly rated centre-back.
Porto were also interested in signing Emerson from Chelsea after selling Alex Telles to Manchester United on Monday but that now appears unlikely.
Sergio Conceicao's side are also on the verge of loaning Felipe Anderson from West Ham, while United outcast Jesse Lingard is also on their radar.
After making 35 league appearances in 2018/19, Sarr's playing time fell dramatically last season with only 16 starts for Nice in the build up to his departure.
Nevertheless, the 21-year-old has remarkably already racked up more than 100 top flight appearances since bursting onto the scene four years ago.
