Michy Batshuayi has no future under Frank Lampard and Chelsea want to sell the striker on a permanent basis this summer, claims HLN.
Chelsea signed Batshuayi in the summer of 2016 after the Belgium international emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Ligue 1 with Marseille.
Now 26, Batshuayi has failed to make any impact at Stamford Bridge and has instead been forced out on three seperate loan spells in the last four years.
After a positive spell at Borussia Dortmund where he netted seven goals in 10 league appearances, Batshuayi endured disappointing loan stints at Valencia and Crystal Palace.
Chelsea have been looking to sell Batshuayi for several years but have failed to find any suitor willing to match their valuation.
Lampard is desperate to bolster his offensive options for next season to ease the burden on Tammy Abraham, with Napoli's Dries Mertens on the club's radar.
Mertens is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently torn on his future at Napoli after being linked with a move to Chelsea in January.
The arrival of the 32-year-old will only push his fellow Belgian, Batshuayi, further down the pecking order for the 2020/21 campaign.
Batshuayi still has intered from the Premier League in the form of West Ham and Palace, while former club Marseille have reportedly not ruled out a return for their former striker.
In his four years at Chelsea, Batshuayi has only managed five league starts and a further 43 appearances from the bench. He has scored eight goals in those outings.
