Ronald Koeman has issued an ultimatum to Ross Barkley, demanding he sign a new deal or be sold this summer, reports the Sunday Express.
The England international is coming into the final year of his current deal at Goodison Park, but has been linked with a move away from the Toffees at the end of the season.
Koeman is understandably keen to see Barkley pen a new deal for Everton, with the creator ranking third for key passes (78) in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham are believed to be leading the race to secure the 23-year-old’s services in the summer, while Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the player.
Dutchman Koeman has now told Barkley to extend his current contract for the Merseyside outfit or be sold at the end of the season.
The Toffees boss wants a final decision from Barkley by the end of the May or he will look to sell him early in the summer to free up funds to strengthen the squad elsewhere.
