Conte’s Chelsea future could be in doubt

Antonio Conte’s future could thrust into doubt should his Chelsea side lose to Manchester United on Sunday, reports the Times.

The Blues boss is under pressure to turn the club’s fortunes around after a 3-0 loss to Roma in the Champions League in midweek.

Ahead of the international break, the defending champions find themselves nine points behind Manchester City, who welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Conte’s Chelsea future could be in doubt

Conte oversaw a return to winning ways in the Premier League after back-to-back defeats as Chelsea overcame Watford and Bournemouth.

However, a defeat to United on Sunday would leave his future at Stamford Bridge in peril as the Italian strives to turn improve the club’s form.

Chelsea’s form has been far from solid at Stamford Bridge this season, with Conte’s side winning just two of five home league matches.

Atletico Madrid’s disappointing performances in the Champions League leaves them with a chance of progressing, but they’ll need to avoid defeat when the two meet next month to secure a spot in the next round of Europe’s elite club competition.
