LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena says there is no doubt that Steven Gerrard will became a manager after he retires as a player and has praised his meticulous approach to football.
Gerrard, 35, joined the Galaxy on a free transfer following his release from Liverpool in the summer.
However, it is Gerrard’s desire to learn off the field that has impressed Arena most.
“His next step in the game is to be a manager, no question about it,” Arena told The Daily Mail. “He’s very studious about what goes on.
“We talk about what he’s done at Liverpool and we compare notes. He’s going to be a manager after he leaves the game as a player. Where that’s going to be, I don’t know.
“I would love it if someone like that could replace me, but I don’t think it’s going to be with the Galaxy.
“I’d guess he’d go back to England and then you can guess where he might end up after that.”
The former Liverpool skipper has already had a direct hand in four goals (one goal + three assists) in his six MLS appearances for the Galaxy. Additionally, only Stefan Ishizaki (2.2) averages more key passes per game than Gerrard (1.7).
