Everton eye permanent move for loan star

Everton are looking to make Kurt Zouma’s loan move permanent this summer, with Marco Silva informing the defender of his intentions in the off season, reports the Times.

Zouma made the temporary switch to Goodison Park last year and has made 22 starts for the Toffees this season, though missed the 2-0 win over Chelsea prior to the international break due to loan stipulations.

He is expected to return to the starting XI for Everton’s trip to West Ham today as the Toffees aim to secure back-to-back league wins for just the second time this season.

However, Chelsea may be reluctant to cash in on Zouma with a transfer ban looming over their heads.

The Blues are considering appealing the ban, which could delay when it comes into effect, but if Chelsea are not permitted to sign players, then they may opt against cashing in on the Frenchman.

That would come as a blow for both Everton and Zouma, with the France international struggling to really make an impact at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Saint-Etienne in 2014.

Zouma has returned a WhoScored rating of 6.64 for Everton this season, the 10th best of all players for Marco Silva’s side.
