Bayer Leverkusen submit €20m bid for Chelsea target
Bayer Leverkusen have made the first move to sign Chelsea target Andre Onana from Ajax, claims Voetbal International.
Onana has been earmarked as a top transfer target by Chelsea with Frank Lampard desperate to sign a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea are only expected to step up their interest in Onana if they can first offload Kepa and now risk missing out on his signature altogether.
Leverkusen have reportedly bid €20m (£18.2m) for Onana but after missing out on Champions League football for next season the Cameroon international may resist their advances.
Chelsea will certainly be able to offer move than their Bundesliga counterparts and have qualified for Europe's elite competition next season.
Onana, who came through Barcelona's academy, has spent the last five years of his career at Ajax and been the club's first-choice goalkeeper since 2016.
In that time, Onana has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the Eredivisie (50) and ranks second in the division for saves made (309).
