Chelsea star named WhoScored’s Premier League Player of the Month
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard finished October as WhoScored’s highest rated player in the Premier League, it can now be revealed.
Hazard has been in sensational form for Chelsea since Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation that has brought the best out of the Belgium international.
The 25-year-old has now been given the license to do what he does best in the attacking third and Chelsea are benefitting from this tactical tweak. Instead of tracking back and helping in defence Hazard is focusing his defensive work in the final third, where he won possession more times than any other player in the Premier League last month (8).
Chelsea went through October as the only team in Europe’s big five leagues that did not concede a goal after winning all four of their matches at an aggregate scoreline of 11-0.
While they remained tight at the back, they were also a force going forward and that was mainly due to Hazard’s creative freedom. The Chelsea No.10 finished October with a WhoScored rating of 8.44 after scoring three goals in four matches, ending as the WhoScored man of the match in his last two appearances.
