Valencia have confirmed a deal in principle to sign Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.
The 28-year-old, who was on loan at Valencia for the 2016/17 campaign, will sign a two-year deal with the Spanish side running until the summer of 2021.
Mangala is deemed as one of the biggest failed transfers in City’s history after failing to make any impact at the club over the last five years.
City spent a reported £32m to sign Mangala from Porto in 2014 but the French centre-back has endured a nightmare stint at the Etihad.
Mangala was hugely impressive on his City debut but his stock has dropped massively since then and he has barely featured for the club in recent years.
Pep Guardiola made it clear immediately after joining City in 2016 that Mangala had no future at the club, though they have struggled to offload his huge wages up until this point.
City curiously sanctioned a new 12-month deal for Mangala at the start of March but the former France international has all but secured a return to Valencia.
Mangala, who last played in the Premier League for City in December 2017, started 30 league games during his loan spell at Valencia two seasons ago.
