Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City manager at the end of the season, according to Kicker.
Guardiola, 44, announced last week that he would leave Bayern at the end of the season when his contract expires and has been heavily linked with the top jobs at Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and City since.
For City, this has been a five-year manhunt for their number one managerial target.
The two-time Premier League champions lured Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain from Barcelona to become their chief executive and director of football, respectively, with the sole aim of bringing Guardiola with them.
The former Barcelona head coach will be tasked with the primitive aim of leading City to their first Champions League trophy. Since first breaking into Europe’s elite competition in the 2011/12 campaign, City have only won 13 of their 34 matches (38.2%).
