Barcelona announce deal to land Roma and Everton target

Barcelona have announced the arrival of highly rated Bordeaux forward Malcom in a deal worth a reported €41m, with the Brazilian penning a five-year deal.

Malcom emerged as one of the brightest talents in Europe last season and was heavily linked with moves to Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United in January.

The Brazilian’s form tailed off towards the end of last season and the aforementioned trio have since cooled their interest and pursued other targets.

Everton emerged as shock suitors for the 21-year-old earlier this month, while Roma had come close to landing the youngster, but Barcelona beat the Italian outfit to the snare Malcom.

Malcom played a direct hand in 19 goals in 35 league appearances for French side Bordeaux last season, winning the WhoScored Man of the Match award on eight occasions.

It remains to be seen how Malcom's arrival impacts Barcelona's pursuit of Willian, with the Brazil international one of their top priorities this summer.
