Tottenham to finish in the bottom half? Win big with Million Pound Predictor
The Premier League season kicks off tonight as Manchester City make the trip to newly promoted Burnley in the bid to get their title defence off to a winning start. Here we take a look at three potential outcomes in what promises to be one of the most exciting top-flight campaigns to date.
Tottenham to finish in the bottom half
There's a new era set to kick off at Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou taking over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, the Australian will have to make do without talisman Harry Kane. The club's top scorer is departing for Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich and that leaves Spurs with a big hole to fill in attack.
Only Erling Haaland (36) scored more goals than Kane (30) in the Premier League last season and Spurs will undoubtedly struggle in the final third without the England international leading the charge. Might his departure severely impact Spurs' season? There is already pressure on Postecoglou to find a solution to Kane's exit, and with such a tough task on his hands, Spurs might just struggle this season.
With those around them also strengthening under their respective managers, might Spurs finish in the bottom half this season? Chelsea ended 2022/23 in 12th, so it's not one to completely rule out.

Crystal Palace to finish in the top half
Crystal Palace finished the season just seven points off the top half of the table as they recovered well under Roy Hodgson to end the season strongly. Indeed, had the season started once Hodgson returned to Selhurst Park, Palace would have finished seventh. They took their foot off the gas once top-flight safety was confirmed, but ended 2022/23 strongly no less.
Granted, Palace have lost Wilfried Zaha, the Ivorian electing to move to Turkish giants Galatasaray rather than pen a new deal with the Eagles, but there is ample attacking talent to boost their chances of a top-half finish. Of course holding onto Michael Olise will be key, the Frenchman having been linked with a summer exit, yet Palace proved how effective they can be in the final third, and how difficult they are to break down.
With the spine of the side in place, Palace will fancy their chances to ending the season in the top 10.

Burnley to be the top promoted club
Burnley have been incredibly active in the summer market as they seek to avoid dropping straight back into the Championship. James Trafford is a solid goalkeeping addition from Manchester City, while the Clarets spent big to land young Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni last month. Sander Berge, previously a target for Arsenal and Liverpool, has also joined from fellow promoted side Sheffield United.
Having excelled under Vincent Kompany last season, there is a belief that Burnley will beat the drop, especially with fellow promoted sides Sheffield United losing two core players in Iliman Ndiaye and Berge to Marseille and Burnley, respectively, and Luton potentially struggling in their first ever Premier League campaign.
As such, it wouldn't be a huge surprise for Burnley to finish the campaign as the Premier League's top promoted club. Kompany has his side playing exciting football, and they'll look to make Turf Moor a fortress once more in their quest to beat the drop.
