Top transfer round-up – January 29th: Tottenham eye £30m midfielder and Leicester target

There are just over 48 hours remaining in the January transfer window and things are starting to hot up all over the continent. Here we run through the latest rumours and round-up the possible movers dominating today’s gossip columns.

Tottenham identify top target for the summer

Tottenham are keen on Valencia starlet Carlos Soler and want to beat Paris Saint-Germain to his signature at the end of the season.

Soler has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United and even scored against the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage earlier this season.

The 22-year-old is valued at £30m and tops Mauricio Pochettino’s summer wish list with a deal before Thursday almost impossible.

Chelsea eye Barcelona midfielder

Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic at the end of the season.

Barcelona need to balance their books once Frenkie de Jong joins from Ajax in the summer and Rakitic will be made available for sale.

Only Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos (87) averages more passes per game than Rakitic (78) in La Liga this season.

Paris Saint-Germain target hands in transfer request

Idrissa Gueye has asked Everton to sanction a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have had an opening offer of £22m rejected for Gueye and are expected to return with an improved offer.

Everton do not want to sell their best midfielder but the 29-year-old is now pushing for a deal to be completed.

Since the beginning of last season, Gueye has completed the most tackles and interceptions combined in the Premier League (310).

Tottenham could hi-jack Leicester’s deal for Tielemans

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is willing to sanction a loan move for Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Belgium international has been made available for loan following Leonardo Jardim’s return as manager.

Leicester are in talks to sign the 21-year-old but Tottenham could hi-jack talks before Thursday’s deadline.

Manchester United in talks to sell Fellaini

Manchester United are in talks to sell Marouane Fellaini to an unnamed Chinese club.

Fellaini is currently recovering from a calf injury but has dropped completely out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chinese clubs have until February 28 to sign players and talks are underway to sign the Belgium international from United.

Everton reject AC Milan’s approach for Lookman

Everton have turned down AC Milan’s approach for Ademola Lookman and do not want to sell the winger.

Milan want to add pace to their ranks this month and are targeting Watford forward Gerard Deulofeu and Lookman.

Lookman has made 13 Premier League appearances this season but only three have been starts.

Of players to have made at least 10 league appearances this season, only Adama Traore (6.3) completes more dribbles per 90 than Lookman (3.7).

Paris Saint-Germain sign Paredes

Paris Saint-Germain announced a deal for Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes on Tuesday morning.

Paredes was linked with a January move to Chelsea but PSG have hi-jacked a deal for the Argentina international.

PSG have spent in excess of €40m to sign Paredes and handed the 24-year-old a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Only Nikola Vlasic (7.46) has a higher WhoScored rating than Paredes (7.44) in the Russian Premier League this season.
