Man Utd goal machine Ronaldo among must-have FPL picks for gameweek 15

Who are the best transfers for FPL gameweek 15? 4-time top 1k and 5-time top 5k finisher Abdul Rehman uses stats, fixtures and the eye test to find the best Fantasy Premier League players with the potential to pick up big points and help shoot you up the rankings.

Sergio Reguilon (£5.2m) – Spurs

Fixture: Norwich (H)

Sergio Reguilon has one goal and three assists this season with five shots in the box and an xG of 0.89, and has also created 13 chances with an xA of 1.41. Since the arrival of Antonio Conte, he has been taking up more advanced positions and getting into the box a lot more. In only three league games under the Italian manager, the Spaniard already has a goal and an assist.
Spurs play Norwich in gameweek 15 which from a defensive point of view doesn’t get much better. The Canaries have only scored 8 goals (20th), have mustered 75 shots in the box (19th) and an xG of 13.9 (20th). While they have picked up form in the last few games, they still aren’t scoring freely.

Tottenham are the second favourites to keep a clean sheet in gameweek 15 (49%) and looking at the stats, it is no surprise really. Despite Spur's poor season so far, they are still a good defensive side. They have only conceded 17 goals (5th) with a n xGC of 17.6 (7th). Fans can only see Conte improving the Spurs defence further. Reguilon has the best attacking stats among the Tottenham defenders and he won’t get a better chance to keep a clean sheet all season, all the while boasting a decent chance of attacking returns too.

Son Heung-Min (£10.3m) – Spurs

Fixture: Norwich (H)

Son Heung-Min grabbed his fifth goal of the season in midweek and now also has one assist to his name. The South Korean has managed 15 hots in the box, mustered seven big chances and has an xG of 4.19. He has also created 19 chances with an xA of 1.39.

Spurs host a Norwich side in gameweek 15 that have conceded 28 goals (19th), 135 shots in the box (18th) and have an xGC of 25.0 (19th). Dean Smith has got them playing well and they are unbeaten in the last four, but Tottenham away from home is going to be a tough task.

Son has 66 goals and 49 assists to his name in his last five seasons for Spurs. He is a proven Premier League player and vital FPL asset. He hasn’t lived up to the expectations of past seasons this campaign, but there is no better fixture for him to get grab some attacking returns.

Despite his, and Spurs', poor start to the season, he has still been their best player and they do now seem to be clicking into gear under Conte. He is their top scorer with five goals and has a 46.2% goal involvement, which ranks first for Spurs, so is their main source of points right now. He is also at 47% to score at anytime (4th) according to the bookmakers.

Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.4m) – Manchester United

Fixture: Crystal Palace (H)

With his brace against Arsenal, Cristiano Ronaldo now has six goals and two assists in nine league starts for Manchester United. He has managed 32 shots in the box (4th), 16 shots on target (4th) and an xG of 6.10 (5th). He has also created 8 goalscoring chances with an xA of 2.04.

Man United play Crystal Palace at home in gameweek 15. The Eagles have been fairly stout at the back, conceding 20 goals with an xGC of 17.2 (5th), I do think the Red Devils will be too strong for them.

United have had a very poor start to the season, but they are now under a new manager and their win against the Gunners will have given them a real boost. Despite the poor start they haven’t had problems scoring goals, as they have notched 24 (5th) with an xG of 23.4 (4th).

Ronaldo has been their talisman this season and has an impressive 33% goal involvement in the Premier League and has arguably been their best player without a doubt. This is a fixture in which United should win and Cristiano is the one most likely to score for the hosts. He also now seems to be the number one penalty taker.

Man United are also the third favourites to score 2.5+ goals (37%) and the Portuguese is the third favourite to score at anytime also (52%).
