It’s been a very tough first half of the season for the Toffees and they currently sit 19th in the Premier League having only won on three occasions this season, the lowest return in the league. Lampard’s side haven’t won a game since October 22nd, and have lost seven of their last nine in all competitions. There were sour scenes at Goodison last weekend and Everton fans are in desperate need of a boost, which could come in the form of signing Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal. We take a look at what the winger can bring to Merseyside.
He can contribute goals
Since signing for Villarreal, Danjuma has played 51 times in all competitions and in that time has scored 22 goals, including eight goals in 16 European appearances. Everton are crying out for a source of goals having only scored 15 times this season, fewer than any other team.
Previous Premier League experience
As you may recall Danjuma signed for Bournemouth in 2019 for £13.7m where he spent the next two years plying his trade. During that time he made 49 appearances, in both the Premier League and the Championship, and got on the scoresheet 17 times for the Cherries.
This is a massive benefit for a mid-season move to any Premier League club as it’s likely that he will fit right in and will require very little time to adapt to life away from La Liga. Given their current form, Everton will require signings who can hit the ground running and Danjuma’s previous experience may help him to do that.

Fan Favourite
Despite a relegation in his time at Bournemouth, Danjuma very much enjoyed his time on the south coast. He was a fan favourite and was crowned player of the year in 2020/21. His goals propelled them to playoff qualification in the Championship with the Dutchman finishing the campaign as Bournemouth’s top scorer with 17 league goals.
With Everton fans suffering so far this season they are desperate for a player to bring some excitement to Goodison and Danjuma is definitely the sort of player that can inject some pace and passion the Toffees' fans are bound to appreciate that.
