Manchester United ready bumper move for Ajax attacker
Manchester United have lodged a £46m bid for Ajax winger David Neres, according to Yahoo.
The Red Devils are in the market for a wide attacker before Thursday’s transfer deadline as Ole Gunner Solskjaer seeks offensive reinforcements.
United have been credited with an interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho as Solskjaer aims to bring in another winger.
And Neres, who made two appearances for Brazil at the 2019 Copa America, is supposedly on the Norwegian’s radar.
The Brazilian has previously been linked with an Old Trafford switch and started Ajax’s 2-2 draw with Vitesse on the bench in their Eredivisie season opener.
Ajax may be in the position to sanction Neres’ sale as the 22-year-old started just 20 times for the Dutch champions in the league last term as he gained a WhoScored rating of 7.17.
United are closing in on the big money signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester and are expected to be busy before the transfer window shuts on Thursday.
