Southampton are poised to signing Bayern Munich midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in a deal worth £12m.
Hojbjerg, 20, joined Bayern in 2012 with huge promise but has seen his career stall at the Bundesliga champions and is now looking for a move to secure first-team chances.
The Denmark international has spent the last two seasons on loan at Augsburg and Schalke but his agent, Soren Lerby, has now confirmed he is set to move to Southampton.
“Yes, I can confirm that Pierre will switch to Southampton,” Lerby told Eksta Bladet, via The Daily Mirror.
Of Schalke players that started more than one league game last season, only Roman Neustadter (89.6%) had a higher pass success rate than Hojbjerg (87.4%).
