Arsenal’s €50m bid for Aubameyang rejected

Borussia Dortmund have rejected Arsenal’s improved offer of €50m (£43.64m) for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports BBC Sport.

Arsenal announced the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United earlier this week and are now trying to reunite the Armenian with his former Dortmund team-mate.

The Gunners have already had one bid turned down for the Gabon international and Dortmund are looking for significantly more than the €50m offer they rejected on Wednesday.

Dortmund are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated by Arsenal’s slow progress in negotiations and Arsene Wenger’s side will now weigh up their next move before proceeding with further talks.

There had been suggestions Arsenal would look to include Olivier Giroud in the deal but their latest offer did not include the France international.

Aubameyang, who was dropped for Friday’s draw with Hertha Berlin, has since returned to training and could even feature for Peter Stoger’s side this weekend.

In the last three Bundesliga campaigns, Aubameyang has scored at least nine more clear-cut chances than any other player (62).
