AC Milan prepared to offer Chelsea defender Stamford Bridge escape
AC Milan are pondering a move for Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori this month as the Italian side look to bring in a new defender, reports The Guardian.
Tomori made his Premier League debut for the Blues last season and went on to make 15 appearances for Frank Lampard's side.
However, the arrival of Thiago Silva from PSG has pushed Tomori down the pecking order and the young English defender is now fifth choice centre-back at Stamford Bridge.
Tomori had the option to leave Chelsea for West Ham on loan over the summer, but the 23-year-old rejected the chance to move to the London Stadium as he wasn't guaranteed first team action.
That decision looks to have backfired on Tomori, who has registered just 45 minutes of top-flight game time in 2020/21.
A number of Premier League sides are weighing up the possibility of landing Tomori on loan for the rest of the season, so AC Milan would face competition for the defender's signature.
Their pursuit of Tomori also hinges on whether they can land Strasbourg’s Mohamed Simakan, who has been heavily linked with a move to RB Leipzig.
