Paris Saint-Germain announce Mbappe arrival

Pairs Saint-Germain have announced they have signed Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan deal with an option to make the switch permanent next summer.

Mbappe has agreed a provisional five-year deal with PSG that will become active when Unai Emery’s side exercise their right to make the deal permanent in a £163m deal.

The Ligue 1 champions made Neymar the most expensive player of all-time when they paid Barcelona £193m to sign the Brazil international earlier this summer and Mbappe will soon become the second most costly.

“It is with great joy and pride that I join Paris Saint-Germain,” Mbappe told the club’s official website. For any young person from the Paris region, it is often a dream to wear the red and blue jersey and experience the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.

“I really wanted to be part of the club’s project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe. Alongside my new teammates, I intend to continue my progression while helping the team achieve the very big objectives it has set itself.”

The 18-year-old has established himself as one of the most sought after talents in the world after enjoying a stunning breakthrough campaign for Monaco last season.

Real Madrid and Manchester City were heavily interested in signing the France international at the start of the summer but both have lost out to their French counterparts.

Mbappe scored 26 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions last season for Monaco and will now form a frightening attack alongside Neymar and Edison Cavani at the Parc des Princes.
