After years of trying to prise Willian from Chelsea, Barcelona have opted against signing the Brazilian on a free transfer this summer, claims Spanish outlet Sport.
Willian's current deal is due to expire once the 2019/20 campaign finishes and he is set to leave the Blues on a Bosman transfer.
The 31-year-old is demanding a three-year contract to renew with Chelsea but Frank Lampard's side are only willing to sanction a two-year deal.
With Willian free to sign a Bosman transfer with foreign sides, his agent, Kia Joorabchian has been busy talking to other clubs about his client.
Joorabchian, who also represents Philippe Coutinho, has even held discussions with Barcelona about a potential move but the Spanish side have turned down Willian.
It comes after multiple bids over several years lodged from Barcelona to sign Willian from Chelsea and definitively signals they are no longer interested in the veteran.
Tottenham are now the frontrunners to sign Willian seven years after that thought they were landing te Brazilian before Chelsea hi-jacked a deal.
Willian has scored five goals and registered five assists in 28 league appearances for Chelsea this season, one more goal involvement than he managed in 32 league games in 2018/19.
