Burnley sign Rodriguez in £10m deal

Burnley have re-signed West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez in a deal worth £10m, the Premier League side has announced.

The Clarets triggered Rodriguez’s release deal over the weekend, which is an initial £5m up front and a further £5m spread over the next 12 months.

Rodriguez has put pen to paper on a two-year deal running until 2021, with an option to a further 12 months, and is Burnley’s first signing of the summer.

The 29-year-old, who previously came through Burnley's youth academy, dropped down to the Championship with West Brom last season after a five-year stint in the Premier League.

West Brom are reluctant in letting Rodriguez join Burnley after he developed into one of their best players last season.

Rodriguez scored 22 goals and registered six assists in 47 league matches for the Baggies last season, with only five players netting more times in the division.
