Bayern Munich forward Franck Ribery admits he has been kept in the dark about his future at the Allianz Arena.
Ribery, 32, has been plagued by injuries in recent years and will only have one-year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season.
The former France international had been a key part of Pep Guardiola’s plans during his first season but injuries have seen him become something of a forgotten man in Munich.
With Guardiola leaving at the end of the season, Ribery doesn’t know what the club intends to do with his future, but is adamant he wants to keep playing for as long as possible.
“I have not heard anything yet about my contract,” Ribery told German newspaper Bild, via The Daily Mail.
“We have yet to hold talks, but everyone knows what I am capable of. I want to keep playing as long as possible.”
Ribery certainly gave a reminder of what he is capable off in Bayern’s 1-0 win over Frankfurt at the weekend that maintained their six-point lead over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
His acrobatic effort was enough to give Bayern their second consecutive 1-0 win in the league on Saturday and marked only his second league goal of the season and first since the start of December (vs Gladbach).
Furthermore, no Bayern player is averaging fewer minutes per successful dribble in the Bundesliga this season than Ribery (20.6 mins).
