Daniel James could leave Manchester United

Manchester United are weighing up improved terms for Daniel James before sending him out on loan next season, claims The Sun.

The 22-year-old earned a bumper pay day after joining United from Championship side Swansea in a shock deal last summer.

James was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing as United manager after completing a reported £18m deal for the Wales international.

The electric winger was signed as one for the future but has played more often than Solskjaer originally wanted.

After making a flying start to life at United, scoring three times in his first four league appearances, James has struggled with the intense run of games.

James has failed to score in his last 23 league appearances for the Red Devils but has weighed in with six assists in that period.

Four of his assists have been converted by Marcus Rashford and losing the England international to injury at the start of the year also hurt James' performances.

Despite struggling for form for most of the season, United are prepared to offer James a new long-term deal just 12 months since his arrival.

However, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz on the club's radar, James could be loaned out next season for regular playing time.
