Barcelona confirm arrival of highly rated Portuguese winger from Braga

Barcelona have confirmed that promising young winger Francisco Trincao will join the club from Braga this summer.

The 20-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects in Portugal and Barcelona have acted swiftly to tie the player down to a long-term deal at Camp Nou.

Trincao, who has made 11 league appearances for Braga this season, four of which have been starts, has scored two goals and registered two assists to return a WhoScored rating of 7.00 in Liga NOS this season.

"FC Barcelona and SC Braga have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Francisco Trincão who will join the club on 1 July 2020," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The transfer fee is 31 million euros and the player will sign a contract with the Club for the next five seasons, until the end of the 2014/25 campaign with a buy-out clause of 500 million euros."

Barcelona had been linked with a move for a new striker this month in the wake of Luis Suarez's injury absence, but the Blaugrana elected against bringing in a new forward.

Barcelona currently sit three points behind league leaders Real Madrid following their 2-0 defeat at Valencia last weekend and will aim to get their season back on track against Levante on Sunday.
