Arsenal are keen on signing Yves Bissouma from Premier League counterparts Brighton, according to Football.London.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield, with question marks surrounding Granit Xhaka's future at the Emirates and Dani Ceballos' loan move unlikely to be made permanent.
Bissouma has been linked with a number of teams across the continent in recent weeks, with divisional rivals Liverpool also credited with an interest in the Seagulls star.
However, Arsenal would have to wait until the summer to make a move for Bissouma as they prioritise a creative midfielder this month.
Bissouma is keen to remain in England rather than move abroad, which suits interested English parties.
The report also states that Bissouma shares a close relationship with centre-back Gabriel stemming from their time together with Lille, which bodes well for the Gunners
Bissouma ranks joint-third for tackles (49) in the Premier League this season and head coach Mikel Arteta likely views the Malian as a long-term partner for Thomas Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid last year.
