Manchester United in pole position to re-sign former winger

Manchester United will be at the front of the queue to re-sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctions a move, claims The Sun.

Zaha spent two years at United but the majority of that time was out on loan after failing to make any impression under then-manager David Moyes.

The Ivory Coast international spent six months of that time at Cardiff under Solskjaer and now there are the suggestions the United boss will consider his return.

United are entitled to 25 per cent of any future profits if Zaha leaves Palace and that means they would be able to strike a cut-price deal if they wanted to re-sign the 26-year-old.

Zaha is regarded as one the best Premier League players outside the established top-six and Palace would be resigned to losing their best player.

He has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 27 league appearances this season, while only Eden Hazard (92) has only completed more dribbles than the Palace winger (87).

Since the beginning of last season, Palace’s win ratio in the Premier League goes from 34.5% with Zaha in the starting XI to just 14.3% without him.
