Derby County have today confirmed the arrival of Curtis Davies from fellow Championship side Hull City.
Despite a respectable season for the Tigers, the 32-year-old had been allowed to leave the KCOM Stadium and has penned a two-year deal for the Rams.
“Defender Curtis Davies has today become Derby County’s first signing of the close-season,” a statement read on Derby’s official website.
“The centre-back, 32, has joined the Rams from fellow 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship rivals Hull City for an undisclosed fee.
“The former England Under-21 international has put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract, with the option of a third.
“Davies is Gary Rowett’s first signing since his appointment as manager in March and further strengthens the defensive options available to the 43-year-old ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
“The defender also brings vast experience and know-how with him to Pride Park Stadium.”
No player made more interceptions than Davies (90) in the Premier League last season, who earned a WhoScored rating of 6.91.
