Chelsea set to move for Real Madrid man

Chelsea look set to allow Diego Costa to leave at the end of the season having already eyed up his replacement, according to the Sunday Express.

Costa, who has scored 17 league goals this season, has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford bridge for sometime now and was rumoured to be on his way out of the club in January as a switch to China beckoned.

He was convinced to stay, but this campaign is set to be is his last for the Blues, with manager Antonio Conte willing to allow the Spain international to depart, either for China or to return to Madrid.

The Chelsea boss would then use the funds raised from Costa’s sale to secure the services of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who Conte signed for Juventus in 2014 before leaving the Turin side to oversee managerial duties with Italy.

Morata, 24, has struggled for regular game time with Real Madrid this season, but a strike against Sporting Gijon took his total in La Liga this season to 12, with the frontman now averaging a league goal every 88.2 minutes.

Real Madrid are demanding around £50m for the Spanish striker, but Chelsea would be willing to pay that in order to lure him to London.
