Inter have turned their attentions to Lazio wideman Antonio Candreva after missing out on snapping up Napoli’s Dries Mertens, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Candreva, 28, still has four years left to run on his current deal with Lazio and the club are reportedly reluctant to let him leave for the €20m (£14m) valuation.
Roberto Mancini’s side will reportedly have to fend off interest from their city rivals AC Milan and Rome to land the Italy international and could even make a more for him as early as January if they can balance the purchase with the sale of Andrea Ranocchia.
Candreva has fallen well short of the feats he managed last season and is still searching for his first goal and assist of the season in the league. In fact, no player has had more shots at goal without scoring in Italy's top-flight than Candreva thus far (23).
