Hazard to make decision on future after Chelsea talks
Eden Hazard has revealed he wants to know Chelsea’s plans for the future before making a decision on his future at the club.
The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea in the last 12 months after stalling on a new long-term deal.
Antonio Conte is expected to leave Chelsea this summer but the west London outfit are struggling to nail down his replacement.
There have also been doubts cast over the long-term future of owner Roman Abramovich after the Russian was denied a new UK visa.
Hazard has remained coy on his Chelsea future during the last year and wants to find out more about the club’s intentions before deciding whether to leave or not.
“At the moment I only focus on the World Cup,” Sky Sports quote Hazard as saying on Sunday.
“We had a bad season with Chelsea. We won the FA Cup at the end – so it was a little bit better but I’m only focused on the World Cup.
“Then I let the board manage Chelsea the best way that they can. Yeah I want to know [who Chelsea’s next manager will be]. I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup.
“If we have something new – manager or players – it is always good to know it because I want players that can [help bring success back to] Chelsea next season.
“But to be fair the transfer market is not here [in full flow] yet. We will see after.”
Only three Premier League players scored a higher WhoScored rating than Hazard (7.69) last season, while no player won the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times (9).
Not only that, but only Lionel Messi (185) completed more dribbles than Hazard (165) in Europe’s top five leagues last term.
